- Description:
- The English Toy Spaniel, also called the King Charles Spaniel in Britain, is a small companion spaniel from the English court. It is heavier-headed and shorter-muzzled than the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The AKC places it in the Toy Group; the UKC classes it as a Companion Dog.
- Temperament:
- These spaniels are typically quiet, affectionate, and closely tied to their people. They are not as busy as many sporting spaniels. They can be reserved with strangers and do not enjoy rough play.
- Training:
- They learn household manners easily if training stays gentle. Keep sessions short.
- Care & Grooming:
- Brush the long coat and keep the heavy ears clean and dry. The short face needs regular cleaning around the eyes.
